Exterior Painting

Exterior 8-Step Process

Are you concerned about your home’s curb appeal?

Our professional team of painters will follow a specific eight-step-process to guarantee a well maintained and beautiful home.

What does your home exterior look like?

  • Have you noticed rotted wood around your windows or chimney?
  • Is the original builder’s paint on your home fading or peeling?
  • Is the exterior paint style outdated and needing a fresh and new look?
  • Do cracks and chipped caulk have you concerned about moisture penetration?
  • Is peeling paint, a faded front door and animal holes are not the look you desire?
  • Is it time to update your home exterior prior to listing your home with a realtor?

Process Steps:

Day One:

  • Power Wash Surfaces to be painted
  • Wood Repair as specified
  • Re-Caulk every wood seam and joint
  • Re-Caulk around every window

Day Two:

  • Mask off the brick and roof shingles
  • Mask off all the windows
  • Apply 100% Strength Paint to all previously painted surfaces

Our experienced crews will follow a detailed eight-step-process to ensure the efficiency, quality and professionalism of our service.

  1. Cleaning
Carnival Custom Painting begins by cleaning all painted surfaces through power washing, brushing or hand cleaning. In addition, our crew will apply a mildew treatment on any mold or mildew present. This process will help the new paint to bond to the existing exterior surface by removing dirt, pollutants and loose or cracking paint.
  2. Wood Repair
Our skilled team will replace damaged or rotting wood on the fascia, soffits, chimney and windows. Loose trim pieces and siding will be securely re-attached. Peeling paint not removed by pressure washing will be hand scraped and nail heads will be reset and filled.
  3. Protecting Property
Painting on your brick or windows is unacceptable! Our careful professionals will protect landscaping, windows, masonry, fixtures, shingles and all other surrounding surfaces with plastic sheeting drop cloths, tape and paper prior to painting.
  4. Primer for Sealing, Bonding and Smoothing
When your home is properly prepared, clean and protected, all new and exposed surfaces will be primed to promote adhesion of the new topcoat to prevent tannin bleed through on new wood, and to ensure a smooth long-lasting finish.
  5. Caulking
Any lose caulk will be properly removed and replaced. This will include both windows and doors. We apply a premium latex caulk prior to painting to help prevent rain water from penetrating the exterior of your home. Windows can be glazed during this time if required.
  6. Meticulous Application
We offer several premium quality paints from Sherwin-William’s which include both SuperPaint and Duration. The application will consist of both brush and spray, depending upon the particular surface being painted.
  7. Protocol
Rest assured, your home will be kept clean and well cared for by our polite, prompt and professional team. They will complete the project in an efficient and timely manner. Any remaining touch-up paint will be properly labeled and left for your convenience.
  8. Inspection and Follow-up
When the project is completed, a supervisor will perform a thorough inspection and invite you to review it to ensure your complete satisfaction. If any touch-up is required, it will be handled immediately!

Exterior Painting Options: Paint choices

Each of you, our exterior painting customers, has different plans and different needs.
